Sean Brown, City Attorney

The City Attorney represents the City in Municipal, State, and Federal Courts, and State and Federal Administrative Agencies. He also provides legal advice to the Mayor/City Council and Administrator and staff. He provides legal services to individual City departments and prepares revised chapters of the City Code. He also prepares agreements, ordinances, deeds, and other legal documents.

The City Attorney only prosecutes misdemeanors which are cited into the Gillette Municipal Court. If you have been ticketed in the Campbell County Circuit Court, contact the County Attorney's Office at (307) 682-4310.

The Legal Services Specialist prepares subpoenas on witnesses/victims for Municipal Court, explains Court procedures to the public regarding arraignment and trial, and routes callers to Police, Clerk of Court, Victim's Advocates, County Court, Small Claims, private attorney, etc. She handles requests for plea agreements or case dismissals, notifies attorneys, officers, witnesses, and victims of Municipal Court changes, and searches City Code for ordinance questions. She also works with the Planning Department on annexations & LIDs and routes deeds, resolutions, and other legal documents.
