Adoptions

BPF logoWe do not allow public walkthroughs of our kennel areas in order to reduce the stress, fear and anxiety of our animals. Books are available at the front lobby for patrons to view our adoptable pets' pictures and bios. All of our available animals are listed on our Adopt a Pet page. If there is an animal you are interested in meeting, please speak with a front desk staff member and we will bring the animal up to meet you.

Please complete an application online or in person at the shelter to be considered for adoption:

Please note: Online submissions do not reserve an adoptable animal and requesters are still required to be in-person to finalize any approved adoption.

Surrenders

Appointments are required to surrender a pet. Please contact the shelter at (307) 686-5249 to set up an appointment for surrendering.

Surrender Fees

  • Dogs: $10.00
  • Cats: $5.00

The City of Gillette Animal Shelter works with Adopt a Pet to help those in need of rehoming their pet(s) in lieu of surrendering the animal to the shelter. This service allows the owner to list their pet(s) as needing a new home from their own home. The Animal Shelter does not have any involvement in this process as it is strictly between the Owner and the Interested Party.

If you have questions regarding this service, please use this link.

Use this link to sign up with Adopt a Pet. Adopt a Pet may have a listing fee associated with rehoming. If a fee is required, use the coupon code RCXHAQTL2U8AD8Z
