1% Sales Tax Information

Since 1976, the Optional 1% sales tax has collected just one penny on each dollar spent by visitors and residents in Campbell County. These pennies have been distributed among the City of Gillette, Campbell County government and the Town of Wright to fund dozens of critical infrastructure, public safety and community support projects.

The Optional One Percent was renewed by Campbell County voters in November 2022. Prior to the General Election, the City again partnered with the Campbell County Board of Commissioners and the Town of Wright to administer a survey to determine funding priorities for the Optional One Percent funds.
