Municipal Court Information

Judges presiding in the Municipal Court are the Honorable Chris R. Ringer and the Honorable Alison O. Gee. The Municipal Court judges have jurisdiction over all criminal violations of the City of Gillette ordinances. Municipal Court citations are issued by the Gillette Police Department only. Fines do not exceed $750 and imprisonment does not exceed six months for any one offense.

Arraignments are held Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. (excluding holidays) in Council Chambers, City Hall, 201 E. 5th St., Gillette, WY. Check-in at the Municipal Court window begins at 7:30 a.m. Defendants are seen in the order they have checked in.

Trials are held Thursday mornings beginning at 8:30 a.m. (excluding holidays) in Council Chambers, City Hall, 201 E. 5th St., Gillette, WY. Defendants must request subpoenas for their witnesses no later than two weeks prior to their trial date.

Bench Warrants and Orders to Show Cause (OTSC) are issued for failure to appear in court, failure to pay fines, or failure to comply with court orders. The Municipal Court Bench Warrant list is displayed on the City of Gillette website and GPA Channel 192.

Court Etiquette

It is important that you come to court prepared and follow proper court etiquette once you arrive:

  1. Hats must be removed;
  2. Cell phones must be turned off;
  3. Food and drink are not allowed in the courtroom; and,
  4. Weapons of any kind are not allowed in the courtroom, except for Law Enforcement Officers.

If you are under 18 years of age, you must bring a parent or legal guardian with you to court.

Circuit Court

If your citation was issued by a Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy or Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper, you will need to attend court at the Campbell County Courthouse, 500 S. Gillette Ave, Gillette, WY. Please call the Circuit Court at (307) 682-2190.
