Overview

The Wastewater Division collects and treats the wastewater produced by the citizens and businesses of Gillette. The Wastewater Division operates and maintains about 200 miles of sewer line and 10 lift stations. The wastewater is treated at a conventional activated sludge treatment facility with anaerobic digestion and UV disinfection.

The wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) treats an average of 3.04 MGD (million gallons per day). We also reclaim the solids which are composted and sold to the public as the Class A biosolids product known as Stonepile Soil Amendments.

Compost is $20 per cubic yard for Stonepile Soil Amendments (Biosolids) and Yard Waste compost.

Processed wood chips are available for $20 per cubic yard.
