Tricia Simonson

Councilwoman Tricia "Trish" Simonson was appointed to represent Ward 1 on the City Council in March of 2022.

Trish moved to Gillette in 1979 with her mom. She graduated high school in Gillette in 1989 and also attended Gillette College. Trish married her husband Mike in 1992. They have 2 grown children but lost their youngest child in 2015 to suicide. Trish has always been very involved in the community. When her kids were young, she was involved in everything from volunteering at school to coaching and team mom to being a Girl Scout leader and ministry leader.

Since 2015 she has been a community voice for suicide prevention and awareness. Trish was a member of the Campbell County Suicide Prevention Coalition and former co-chair and most recently published a book about her son’s death. Trish is very passionate about bringing awareness to suicide prevention and mental health. She is also passionate about the youth in our community and the arts community and served on the Mayor’s Art Council until her recent appointment to City Council. Trish works at Wyoming Art & Frame and resides with her husband and adopted fur kids Boone and Axel.
